Former Florida governor Jeb Bush was asked by a voter at an event in Concord, New Hampshire, if there was an issue where there’s big space between he and his brother.
“Sure, I think that in Washington during my brother’s time Republicans spent too much money,” Bush said, according to Politico.
“He could have used the veto power. He didn’t have line item veto power, but he could have brought budget discipline to Washington, D.C.”
An honest answer from Jeb Bush; his brother’s Administration never had a handle on how to restrain Tom Delay, in particular, when it came to spending, earmarks and instituting ‘pay to play’ rules for K Street.
Despite the fact Jeb Bush and his staff are heavily courting Senate and House GOP members and their staffs, he could develop this theme without making it personal.
