D.C. + National Strategy/Management

Macro strategy defines the mission and path forward — not micro tactics.

Gordon Hensley’s senior-level experience with on-the-record media relations, crisis communications, opinion opposition research, opinion research methodologies, digital advocacy, media production and live TV are integral to the sm/c/p value proposition.

Writing/Content

Directly or through other firms, Gordon Hensley has been the primary writer or major collaborator on hundreds of ideologically diverse high visibility content projects. His writing experience and repertoire is wide, deep and ideologically varied.

This includes senate, gubernatorial and presidential campaign announcement speeches, presentations for CEO’s, third party op-eds appearing in the Washington Post, Wall Street Journal and other major dailies like the Dallas Morning News, Seattle Times and Atlanta Journal Constitution; City of New York international marketing content; cannabis banking reform content/op-eds for Brooklyn-based hip hop pioneer Fab 5 Freddy, a joint HHS/DOD issue brief for Congress detailing Operation Warp Speed (OWS) Covid vaccination strategy; business website text; primary writer/content creator for a DC-based pharmaceutical group (SCPC) with regular advocacy action before the Senate Finance, HELP and House Ways and Means Committees; 30 second TV spots for the Texas Health Care Association (THCA); and other projects.

State Media Expertise

Federal lawmakers’ reality and survival is found at home in state and local media reporting – not DC.

Persistence in writing, marketing and placing local opinion pieces — combined with proactively creating media opportunities in key state media markets — achieves demonstrable results.

It’s also difficult and time-intensive.

Hensley’s on-the-ground experience in over a dozen states — New York, California, Texas, Minnesota, Oregon, Tennessee, Louisiana, New Jersey, and New Hampshire among them — is a value-added expertise and specialty.

Understanding how to navigate and find opportunity in unique state capitol media cultures — and other important state media markets — is always near the top of any client’s list of needs and priorities.

Research/Data

Funding, packaging and publicizing 3rd party data and research as an advocacy tool is a premier method to make news and earn the attention of federal/state lawmakers, regulators and influencers.

Thoughtful design and packaging of data and research — coupled with an effective, strategic media rollout — can generate coverage for months in different D.C. Beltway, national and state news outlets.
